dora grey

Oh my gosh, you guys. You've made your point. Fine. I hereby acknowledge that there are other super heroes willing to keep everyone safe, and therefore, yes, we can take my mom up on her offer to have us come visit for a girl's only weekend.

Dora Annabelle Grey was born to Donald and Laura Grey in Los Angeles, California on July 24, 1991; a week and a half a head of schedule. Donald and Laura had been married for three years; the couple had been trying to have a child for roughly a year before Laura found out she was pregnant with what would turn out to be their one and only child and she was everything that they had hoped for, a happy and healthy child.

As an only child, Dora struggled to relate to children her own age; she was much more skilled at interacting with adults. Despite this social awkwardness, Dora often sought out the friendship of neighborhood children with varying degrees of success; by the time that Dora entered kindergarten she had a small group of friends whom she regularly interacted with. Shortly before Dora's eighth birthday, Donald accepted a promotion that meant the small family would be moving across the country to Boston, Massachusetts and back to Donald's hometown; within a month and a half, just in time for the new school year, the family was living in a new home, in a new city, surrounded by new people. After an initial period of grieving the loss of her friends and her home, Dora rebounded and quickly made several new friends and within six months had adapted to her new home beautifully.

As a teenager, Dora's positive attitude and friendly nature assisted in securing a stable group of friends and a single romance that lasted a grand total of six months before things ended because her other half moved to New York. As a teenager, Dora had one deep and substantial unrequited crush on _____; it never panned out. Dora was an above average student in high school and following graduation, she opted to attend Boston University; her father's alma mater.

Indecision set in quickly with the young college student and Dora ended up switching her major every semester; there was social work, education, history, and psychology. It was just prior to her junior year beginning that read an article about _____, it gave her a new goal to work for _____, _____'s company. Dora applied for internships at _____ during her junior and senior years with no luck; even the application that Dora submitted following graduation was rejected.

However, Dora quickly had a new prospect that would allow her to stay in Boston at a small tech start up that was going through a growth spurt. Two years later, Dora was out of a job when the company went belly up and Dora ended up moving back in with her parents while she figured out what she was going to do. Dora quickly accepted work as a temp, while continuing to look for something more permanent. She took the challenge in stride with a smile on her face, she knew eventually it would work itself out.

squirrel girl

Doreen Green was born to Dorian and Maureen Green. She suffered a modification in her genes for unknown reasons that granted her squirrel-like abilities, which manifested predominantly in the form of a prehensile tail. When her parents consulted with a doctor, it was determined that Doreen wasn't a mutant, even though she believed so for a long time.

When she was ten years old, Doreen discovered she could communicate with squirrels after overhearing one of these rodents in her window. She subsequently saved this squirrel from being chased by a dog, and they became friends. The squirrel, who identified himself as Monkey Joe, encouraged Doreen to use her abilities to help people. Ever since then, Doreen began to fantasize about becoming a superhero, and came up with the alias of the "Unbeatable Squirrel Girl."
